1958 Custom 22′ #22-8595

This is s/n 22 8595. The box on the front is for the heavy-duty battery of the era, still available today as a tractor battery.

Notice that California was already using all the new Clear-View windows, no stamped windows at all. Ohio didn’t switch until 1959. The back is a Jalousie window. Once again showing any combination was possible.

This trailer has nothing in common with its California siblings, other than it is 22 feet long, but so is a 1958 Flying Cloud and Safari. In 1955 to 1959, model names on Airstreams meant very little.

Just to show that there is no such thing as a standard interior layout, this buyer chose a full rear bath like a Safari and the rest like a Flying Cloud with sofa bed in front, a Flying Cloud style galley and all in a Safari style window layout.
