The 1964 Bambi II is more like the 1965 Caravel than the 1961-1963 Bambi, as it would share the same body style and was transitioning to the Caravel layout with the curbside galley. Ways to determine the difference from the later Caravel is the location of the exterior vents and marker lights, the right-hinged door (vs. the left-hand Caravel) and the layout of the bathrooms with the Bambi II centerline sink vs the Caravel centerline shower.

The serial # format in 1964 is very confusing, almost the opposite what you would think should be for Ohio and California.
